About Axcess Capital Group

Founder and Managing Partner, Axcess Capital Group

Sean Michael Murphy, Founder and Managing Partner of the successful asset management firm MedAx Capital, has expanded his three decades of Wall Street expertise into the education and content space with the launch of Axcess Capital Group. Murphy’s remarkable financial journey began at just 19 years old when he became one of the youngest licensed securities traders on Wall Street, quickly establishing a reputation for his aggressive and diligent work ethic that would define his career.

With deep expertise in options, derivatives, and complex investment banking transactions, Murphy has successfully navigated SPACs, Reg-A/D, private placements, PIPEs, mergers/acquisitions, spin-offs, uplistings, and other restructurings throughout his distinguished career. His specialized focus encompasses both private and public equity in the life science and emerging technology sectors-knowledge that now forms the foundation of Axcess Capital Group’s educational mission.

Murphy’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to found First Colonial Group in 2011, a boutique investment firm in Midtown Manhattan. After building the company’s success, he executed a strategic exit in 2018 to become partner at a multibillion-dollar international investment bank with five global offices. In 2021, he leveraged his vast network of technology leaders, medical researchers, and financial experts to form MedAx Capital, which evolved from a boutique firm working with a small group of software engineers and surgeons into a powerful ecosystem of scientists, geneticists, and quantum physicists.

Recognizing the critical need for accessible, expert-driven financial education, Murphy launched Axcess Capital Group to democratize sophisticated investment knowledge that was once available only to institutional investors and high-net-worth individuals. Through comprehensive newsletters and an exclusive Skool community, the firm bridges the gap between complex financial markets and everyday investors seeking to understand and capitalize on emerging opportunities.

The Axcess Capital Group newsletter serves as a direct conduit for Murphy’s institutional-level market expertise, offering subscribers real-time analysis, investment opportunities, and strategic insights that reflect his aggressive yet disciplined approach to capital markets. The accompanying Skool community creates an interactive learning environment where members can engage directly with Murphy and fellow investors, fostering a collaborative ecosystem of continuous learning and opportunity sharing.

The Mini "Skirt" Comes to the Exchange

Faith McTague “Murphy” was one of the first women to work as a page on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, a role traditionally held by men. Since starting on January 18, 1971, she’s taken on the fast-paced job of processing data cards through an IBM machine to update the ticker. Despite the physical demands and the chaotic, crowded environment, McTague enjoys the work and sees the challenges as worthwhile. The Exchange began hiring women as pages in December, partly due to a shortage of male workers due to the Vietnam Conflict, marking a significant shift in its long-standing traditions.

A Family Legacy in Finance

Wall Street runs in the Murphy family bloodline. His mother, Faith McTague Murphy, made history in January of 1971 as part of the first group of women pages to work on the NYSE floor, helping pave the way for women in finance. Her groundbreaking role processing data cards through IBM machines to update the ticker was featured in the Staten Island Sunday Advance in an article titled “The Mini (skirt) Comes to the Exchange.” The Exchange began hiring women as pages in December 1970, partly due to a shortage of male workers during the Vietnam Conflict, marking a significant shift in its long-standing traditions.

Born and raised in New York, Murphy spent over 30 years living and working in Manhattan before relocating to Dallas, Texas during the Covid pandemic, where he now resides with his wife Corinne and seven-year-old twins, Seanny and Trinity. From his Dallas base, he continues to leverage his extensive network and decades of relationship-building on Wall Street to identify and analyze the most promising investment themes of our time.

Through Axcess Capital Group, Murphy is not just sharing investment insights-he’s building a community of informed investors equipped with the knowledge and tools to navigate an increasingly complex financial landscape with confidence and success. Axcess Capital Group represents the natural evolution of his mission to identify and capitalize on innovations that will shape the future of finance, technology, and human progress.
